GUNNAR SMOLIANSKY /// TRäD         de | en

The grove, which Gunnar Smoliansky has photographed, is not beautiful, at least not in the classical sense. The trunks grow crooked, the bark is pricked, the branches describe curious curves or are tangled. Nobody seems to care about these trees. The earth from which they grow is probably no longer needed or is already intended for another use anyway.

But the pictures that Smolansky made of these survivors ar beautiful. Damaged but brave figures who stand out brightly against the darkness of the forest or dark against the light grey sky.

The large format of the book and the noble workmanship give the pictures the appropriate frame. Edition of 500 numbered copies.
